Sir Robert Grosvenor, 6th Baronet
Sir Robert Grosvenor, 6th Baronet (7 May 1695 – 1 August 1755) of Eaton Hall, Cheshire, was an English politician who sat in the House of Commons from 1733 to 1755. He was an ancestor of the present Dukes of Westminster. Grosvenor was the youngest surviving son of Sir Thomas Grosvenor, 3rd Baronet and his wife Mary Davies, daughter of Alexander Davies of Ebury, Middlesex. He was educated at Eton College, and matriculated at Brasenose College, Oxford in 1712. In 1716, he was admitted at the Inner Temple. He married Jane Warre, the daughter of John Warre of Swell Court and Shepton Beauchamp, Somerset on 21 May 1730. He succeeded to the baronetcy in 1733 after his elder brothers, Richard and Thomas both died without heirs. Having lived in Somerset, on succeeding to the baronetcy he moved to Eaton Hall, Cheshire. Robert Grosvenor, 1st Marquess Of Westminster
Robert Grosvenor, 1st Marquess of Westminster, (22 March 1767 – 17 February 1845) was the son of the 1st Earl Grosvenor, whom he succeeded in 1802 as 2nd Earl Grosvenor. He was created Marquess of Westminster in 1831. He was an English Member of Parliament (MP) and an ancestor of the modern-day Dukes of Westminster. Grosvenor continued to develop the family's London estates, he rebuilt their country house, Eaton Hall in Cheshire where he also restored the gardens, and built a new London home, Grosvenor House. He maintained and extended the family interests in the acquisition of works of art, and in horse racing and breeding racehorses. Robert Grosvenor, 1st Baron Ebury PC (24 April 1801 – 18 November 1893), styled Lord Robert Grosvenor from 1831 to 1857, was a British courtier and Whig politician. He served as Comptroller of the Household between 1830 and 1834 and as Treasurer of the Household between 1846 and 1847. In 1857 he was ennobled as Baron Ebury. Hugh Grosvenor, 1st Duke Of Westminster
Hugh Lupus Grosvenor, 1st Duke of Westminster, (13 October 1825 – 22 December 1899), styled Viscount Belgrave between 1831 and 1845, Earl Grosvenor between 1845 and 1869, and known as The Marquess of Westminster between 1869 and 1874, was an English landowner, politician and racehorse owner. He inherited the estate of Eaton Hall in Cheshire and land in Mayfair and Belgravia, London, and spent much of his fortune in developing these properties. Although he was a MP from the age of 22, and then a member of the House of Lords, his main interests were not in politics, but rather in his estates, in horse racing, and in country pursuits. Captain Robert Arthur "Robin" Grosvenor was a World War I flying ace credited with 16 aerial victories. He was the son of Helen Sheffield and Lieutenant Colonel Lord Arthur Hugh Grosvenor, a son of the 1st Duke of Westminster. Robin Grosvenor scored his first triumph on 6 December 1917 while flying a RAF SE.5a for No. 84 Squadron. He would not score again until 18 February, but during the next three months after that scored 15 more victories. His victory tally was split evenly between enemy aircraft destroyed and those driven down, at eight each. He shared a victory with another pilot in both categories. Postwar, Grosvenor married Doris May Wignall on 9 December 1925. He was elected as a member of the Royal Aero Club on 2 May 1929. Robin Grosvenor is buried in the churchyard of Eccleston Church near Eaton Hall, Cheshire.
